Emergency Care

In the event of a pet emergency, please call us immediately at (252) 482-4113 and let us know your current situation. We offer emergency care during office hours only.

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 5 days a week, during normal business hours, who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately.

We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, Chowan Animal Hospital offers "drop-offs" as an option if our appointments are full. If you do not want to drop your pet off, he or she will be triaged and seen after our scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order for your pet to be seen.

Our recommended hospitals for after-hours emergency care:

Bay Beach Veterinary Emergency Hospital

Pet Emergency Clinic of Pitt County

NC State College of Veterinary Medicine
